‘Ancient emperors languished in luxury on the Palatino’

The oldest and most exclusive part of imperial Rome. The Palatino is an atmospheric area of towering pine trees, majestic ruins and memorable views. According to legend, this is where Romulus and Remus were saved by a wolf and where Romulus founded Rome in 753 BC. Archaeological evidence can’t prove the myth, but it has dated human habitation here to the 8th century BC
